What a fantastic pub! 3 – The Kings Arms LE67 2AF
I arrived on a Thursday night and within seconds the gaffer had caught my eye and asked me if I wanted sport on Sky – I said yes as I obviously look like the sort of bloke who wants to watch Bury v Sunderland in the Caraboa Cup! Whilst the drama of a rare Sunderland away win unfolded before me, I had a decent pint of Marston’s Pedigree in a brand new top of the range beer glass! Maybe Ravenstone is the pinnacle of glassware for the brewing behemoth known as Marston’s as I’d not seen this anywhere before.
Throw into the mix beermats and the fact that a chip van comes here once a week in the car park and you have a top notch wet-led local pub. For me, it is people who make pubs and a ten minute chat with a bloke called Chris about Stoke as both a city and a football club was great value as well as Leicester City, Birmingham City and Midlands football in the 80’s!. A two-roomed pub with the bar area very snug, which helps the atmosphere and a stage promoting local musicians, what more could you want?
Hanging baskets and beermats both on show and this is a pub I would strongly recommend visiting.
