The Jewellery Quarter has lots of gems and diamonds tucked away in both its shops and pub scene but, for me, undoubtedly the 24-carat gold boozer is The Lord Clifden B18 6AA.
It’s the sort of place that really is all things to all people.
I’ve been here with Mrs BB for a drink and she loved it as well as some lazy brunch and it was a winner.
It’s also a place I’ve been on a stag do during the day and had an absolute scream including playing table tennis against the Romanian answer to Desmond Douglas whilst also having a late night drink with a DJ and live sport on the big screens.
Not only does it have slushy cider and a great selection of cask/craft but it is whatever sort of pub you want it to be in one of the most unlikely settings on the outskirts of…
…Birmingham as you head into Hockley and the Jewellery Quarter.
It’s one of the stalwarts of this suburb but is a must visit for anyone in the Second City.
I loved The Lord Clifden too. I expected hipster bell-endery, found a nice pub.
